Automobiles – One of the Most Important Inventions of Modern Times

Automobiles

Automobiles are vehicles designed to transport people and goods over road ways. They are powered by internal combustion engines and are usually fueled with gasoline, diesel fuel, or kerosene. Thousands of individual parts make up the modern automobile. The parts are arranged into several semi-independent systems with specific design functions. These systems include the chassis (analogous to the skeleton of the human body), the engine, wheels, axles, and suspension system.

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT INVENTIONS OF MODERN TIMES

An automobile allows a person to travel far and wide with relative ease. This opens up a world of opportunities for work and play, expands the scope of friendships, and increases the range of lifestyle choices.

COMMUNICATION CAN BE SAVED: One of the biggest benefits that comes from owning a car is that it saves time. Traveling by car means that you don’t have to wait for the bus or have to worry about being late. It also frees you from having to share your personal space with other passengers, which is a great thing especially if you value your privacy.

The automobile was first invented in Germany and France in the late 1800s, but American firms soon dominated the industry. Henry Ford pioneered mass-production techniques that enabled the manufacturing of affordable cars for the middle class. As the automotive industry grew, so did its importance to the economy and social life of America and other nations. By the end of the 20th century, it was virtually impossible for people to live in modern societies without a car.
